Accurate Leak Detection in Reno, NV

Hidden Plumbing Leak Inspections in Reno

Hidden plumbing concerns can involve supply piping below a concrete foundation, underground service lines, or drainage piping. A slab leak occurs in piping beneath a home’s concrete foundation. For Reno properties, we tailor foundation detection to shifting soils and water-table fluctuations near the Truckee River.

A simple water meter test for leaks starts by turning off faucets and water-using appliances, noting the meter reading, and avoiding water use for two hours. Check the meter again after that period. A changed reading or continued meter movement indicates that water is passing through the system despite no intentional use.

We select non-invasive inspection methods based on the suspected location and type of leak:

• Commercial plumbing: We use acoustic ground microphones and infrared thermography to investigate concealed water loss.
• Sewer lines: We use pinpoint equipment, video camera inspection, and sound-based inspection, followed by clear reporting.
• Drainage piping: A camera inspection can examine the inside of a line when the concern involves a drain leak.

For residential pools, spas, and fountains, the on-site process can include a property walkthrough and visual inspection, followed by acoustic listening. We can also use pressure testing and dye testing near suspected cracks or fittings.

Commercial properties can receive a definitive diagnostic report documenting the inspection findings. Reports can include images and GPS coordinates identifying the leak location, giving property owners specific information for planning the next step.
